This is where we are living (for the time being). It's a little house by American standards, and the smallest house of the Ex-pats living here now. But we were the last family to do house hunting here, so our choices were limited. We have a contract to stay here until January, at which time we may move to something bigger. In the mean time, it's a nice little house. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an eat in kitchen and a livingroom. You can see the front porch and the entrance to the house on the left of the porch. Under the main house is the garage, which we are using as storage for now. We fit in this house just perfectly. Then again, we don't have any of our stuff yet.....
Below is the back of the house, and the all important swimming pool. (When DaddyHealy came on the house hunting trip, which I declined to attend, I told him, "Just get me a house with a pool." He did very well.) :)
You can also see what Daniel calls our "cactus patch," one of his favorite elements of the house. In this back yard, we also have a small patch of "green vegetables", parsley and green onions, which are used quite often, and usually together in Brazilian cooking.
We call this our "cabana." Here we have a bathroom, an outdoor cooking area complete with sink and Churrasco pit (sort of a barbeque of sorts, but something Brazilians take very seriously). We also hang our clothes out to dry here. I love it. It looks so tropical! :)
The picture below shows our front yard. The owner did all the landscaping of the house himself, and I think he did a wonderful job. He also takes care of it for us. Handy, no mowing, trimming, weeding, or cleaning the pool. Have I said yet today that "Life is Good" ?!? You can also see the fence that goes around our house. It is very typical in Brazil. There is a man gate (with intercom) and a powered gate for the car to enter. So far, we just park on the street.
Again, here is the single most important reason we chose this house. And we love it!
love the house....and the POOL! and love hearing about your adventure!!!!!
