The Dangers of a Cactus Patch

Don't worry, this post is not what you think.

If you've heard from D at all about our house, then you've heard about the cactus patch. That's what he tells everyone. "We have a house with a pool and a cactus patch." It is a nice little feature, one that we would never have on the Big River. But it poses some problems. We've talked a lot about not touching it. We look from afar. It's a nice view from the pool, and just below my bedroom window.

Here is our cactus patch, and above it, my bedroom window.

The view from my window is a great one.

Looking from my window down.....

Take a closer look.......

In case you are wondering, there are no screens on windows here. (It's highly uncommon to have screens) We have the dark levered shutters you saw in the first picture, and glass single pane sliding windows behind it. (Don't worry Grandmas, they are too high up for a child to fall out of.) This unfortunate incident happened when DaddyHealy was looking out the window while holding H (who'd just woken from a nap) and oops, there went the pacifier! And believe me, it was a chore getting it down!
