D Day

There is a hole in my heart (and my kitchen).....right where a refrigerator should be. When we moved here, we were expecting a fancy new fridge to be delivered in 2 days. We had the movers put our old fridge in the basement as a "spare." Two days after that we got a call that delivery was rescheduled for the following week, then maybe the next week, then "sometime between now and August 13." The few days of running the stairs for the fridge turned into a month. That means every time you sit down to dinner but forgot the butter, it's down to the basement. That means I carry a reusable shopping bag up and down to load with groceries for meal preparation. That means whenever someone needs more milk, 16 stairs. That means buns of steel for me.

But tomorrow is Delivery Day! Ever since Lowes called, I have been skipping around the house singing "Wednesday is the day that the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it!" Oh the anticipation of ketchup at my fingertips.

  1. Such a good attitude under all these circumstances! God is working wonders in your life and it may actually rub off onto me! Thank you for reminding me that God is good, and being gracious is far more pleasant than wallowing in misery and self-pity...something I find myself falling into on occasion! Love you, love your kids! Thank goodness for Grandmas!
