Sleepovers at Grandma's

We'd talked about D having sleepovers at Grandma's house for a long time, but really never thought he'd go for it...he's such a homebody. He'd been with us all, and just with Daddy, but never by himself. But in February, Grandma broached the subject and we were all surprised at the astounding "YES!" followed by a "let's go right now!" So, he did. And wow, he quickly learned that sleepovers at Grandma's house are a thing to be coveted.

Exciting activities (the zoo, the cattle sale, a whole new library full of books), surprises (a few little trinkets from the local department store), treats (I'm sure more than one dish of ice cream), and all that one-on-one attention, with no baby sister walking over the imaginary farm ground that you just worked, or trying to interfere when you are working on your 1:64 scale equipment! That first trip each day he called to ask if he could stay "one more day."

Needless to say, any opportunity that arises is certainly met with outright excitement. here you can see no hesitation in my homebody!
He needs a big backpack for all those blankies and animals he takes to bed!

Sitting in his carseat in front of the front door waiting on Grammy.
