Girl's Week

M & I are having some fun of our own while D is away. Tea parties, shopping, chick flicks, and dress up.....
Well, maybe not quite. She IS 17 months old today, but probably better wait a few more years for that kind of girl's week! We are getting in a daily run, though, and it amazes me how much she loves it! It brings to mind just how different my two little ones really are. Sometimes they seem so similar. (They were both very verbal at a very young age, and they are both go-go-go, leading me to a constant state of exhaustion and 8:30 bedtime for Momma!) But in the stroller different personalities come out. At this age (or any age, really) D needs to be entertained beyond just viewing God's awesome creation. A bag full of toys and 4 snacks might get us through a 30 minute run....but only if I also sing the whole way (talk about out of breath!) M, on the other hand, is so perfectly content to just sit and take it all in. She might chat to herself, she might peek her head out to get a better glimpse, but she's not whining or wailing and she doesn't even need distraction.

Because of where we live, our running route has a very limited scenery, mostly crops, but she appears to see the most amazing thing in fluttering leaves on a soybean plant or swaying heads of grain sorghum. Stop and smell the roses, right?
